Hey there!

My name is Daniel, and I’m from Laholm on the Swedish west coast. Right now, I’m living in Japan. Before moving here, I was a high school teacher in Sweden, teaching English, German, and a bit of French.

I work as an English teacher in Japan, but on the side, I’ve been teaching Swedish online through a site called Cafetalk, so I thought I’d give LearnZone a try too.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my son and my wife, hiking, cycling, and reading books.

I studied English and German at Linköping University and also got my teaching degree there. I then taught for about five years at high schools in the Gothenburg area. I also studied French and taught it at the high school level. I’d say I’m fluent in those languages, and during my lessons, I can use them to explain Swedish grammar, make comparisons, and so on. My Japanese is also good enough to conduct lessons in Japanese!

I’ve been teaching English (from kindergarten to university level) here in Japan since 2018. I’ve been teaching Swedish online (mostly to Japanese students) since 2020.

I’m excited to explore the Swedish language together! There’s a good chance I can use your language to highlight similarities and differences. I look forward to hearing why you’re interested in the language and what your goals are!
