Hi! My name is Erik, and I'm a Swedish teacher here on LearnZone. Right now, I live in Colombia with my wife and our newborn daughter.
My background: Besides teaching, I'm a professional portrait and lifestyle photographer. So, working with people and creating a relaxed and creative atmosphere comes naturally to me.
I'm also interested in holistic health, music, fitness, life philosophy, social studies, economics, entrepreneurship, mindfulness, and cooking.
This means there are plenty of topics to choose from in our lessons.
I don’t have formal teacher training, but over the years, I’ve helped friends and family improve their language skills, and they often said I should become a teacher.
Why I teach: I love helping people grow through language learning. When you learn Swedish, you’re not just learning words; you’re unlocking a whole new culture, mindset, and opportunities, which I think is one of the greatest gifts you can share with someone.

Erik is the best Swedish tutor I’ve had since my language journey began. He is very knowledgeable, kind, curious, and extremely funny. Our lessons are mainly conversational, but Erik will also insert grammar or more structured lessons when needed. He also provides instant feedback or lesson notes that you can revisit whenever. A big plus for me was that he knows Spanish, so trying to express myself became easier. His weekly lessons helped me build the necessary confidence to ace my SVA3 final exams. (Tack!!) Right now, Erik is also helping me practice Swedish for day to day life and work. Highly recommend!!!Roberto
