I have experience teaching Korean to international students in various settings!
First, I taught Korean to foreign staff at the U.S. Embassy in Korea for about two years. Through this experience, I learned how to guide complete beginners step by step, explain grammar clearly in English, and tailor lessons to each student's goals and pace.
Additionally, during my college years, I was a buddy for exchange students for four years and regularly conducted language exchange classes. I have experience teaching many students Korean conversation, essential expressions, and basic grammar in a friendly and easy-to-understand way.
Having graduated high school in New Zealand, I have a good understanding of the differences between English and Korean, and I'm strong at explaining things in a way that English-speaking students can easily grasp. I've also taught basic Korean and grammar to my friends in New Zealand, so I can comfortably teach students who know nothing about Korean.
I love K-pop and enjoy classes that incorporate various idol groups. Just a line from a song can help students learn vocabulary, expressions, grammar, and conversation naturally, making it fun and motivating for many.
My teaching style is calm, clear, and flexible, focusing on helping beginners feel comfortable and confident while learning.

Sujung has been a fantastic tutor. She is very adaptive and accommodating to my current level and interests. I mentioned that I had just watched 선재 업고 튀어 (Lovely Runner), and the next week she incorporated a scene from the show into my lesson. Language acquisition becomes much easier when you are able to associate new words and ideas to concepts you have a personal connection to, and Sujung really helps to facilitate that. Sujung is the absolute best! I’ve always wanted to learn korean and although at first the idea of being alone with a teacher scared me a bit she made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. I feel like we connected easily from the start and she always makes the classes feel enjoyable and fun! She is very patient and understanding of my rhythm while learning and explains everything very clearly and easy to understand. I’m very grateful to have found her because the classes genuinely feel like talking to a friend while learning a whole new language.
