I have been studying with Eunjoo for almost 2 months now and it is a real pleasure. She is so patient and attentive with me, encourages me a lot, and even when I doubt, she keeps encouraging and congratulating me. I have made huge progress since I started studying with her and she helps me gain confidence in myself. I don't have the keyboard to write in Korean on my computer, but I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her patience and everything she brings me since our paths crossed. Teacher Eun Joo has been calm, nurturing and cheerful — a brilliant teacher to restart my journey to learning korean. When I first found her, I was attracted to her interesting background (opera singing, living abroad, speaking french). Her diverse personality suited me and my future self, and I was excited to journey together. During our first interactions via text, she was so excited and expressive with her desire to help me continue my journey learning korean. That made me give her a go. During lessons, she spends time correcting my mistakes in pronounciation, is extremely patient and doesn’t rush through. She assessed my skill level and used appropriate resources to tackle my weak points. Her lessons were so desirable — she created a safe and nurturing environment, no shame in making mistakes and a safe space to grow and learn as a student. She is also flexible and modern in her approach — Not needing to adhere to ‘rules’ and a traditional, fixed way of teaching, that could slow down progress in learning. She was also really handy with online tutoring, well-versed with using the computer and IT tools to her advantage. She was kind enough to allow me to shift my lesson timing slightly when there were hiccups in my schedule. She listened to my goals and needs, and is not afraid to praise me when I do well in certain areas. I look forward to attending her lessons! It has been such a joy. I am excited to see how much she can teach me through this journey, not just in korean but as a person. I’ll describe her as a warm, kind-hearted and balanced(not anxious) individual.
