Hello! I’m a tutor who genuinely loves K-pop (especially TWICE), baseball, and language learning. I was born in Incheon and grew up between Savannah (GA) and Beijing, which let me experience three cultures up close. That background shapes my classroom, where everyone is welcome, no matter where you’re from, your background, or your current Korean level. I can communicate in English and Chinese.

In my classes, mistakes are part of the process. We’ll laugh and fix sentences together, and before long you’ll find yourself speaking Korean without overthinking it. I see language learning as a way to open new worlds in everyday life, and I’d love to help you discover the charm of Korean and the small cultural details that bring it to life, step by step.

I have taught over 700 hours on LearnZone and built a lot of practical experience. I work with learners at every level, from complete beginners who do not yet know Hangul to advanced speakers.

I primarily use textbooks because they give us a clear, leveled roadmap so your skills grow step by step. Learning through Korean pop music or films can be fun but may feel less structured. Rather than stopping at memorizing lyrics or lines, I focus on helping you build the ability to create and say your own sentences.

For a Hangul course, it usually takes about 8 to 10 lessons, depending on the student.

Apart from the Hangul course, most lessons run like this:

1. Vocabulary study. I usually assign words to learn before class as homework.

2. Grammar study. We learn key concepts and when to use them with clear examples.

3. Sentence building. You use the grammar and words you learned to make your own sentences.

4. Real-life speaking. We practice with practical conversations to apply what you made.

5. Grammar exercises. We check form and usage with targeted problems.

6. Listening practice. We do listening drills and questions to get comfortable with natural speech and intonation.

7. Quick review quiz. After we cover a set amount of vocabulary and grammar, we take a short quiz to consolidate what you learned.

If you want to improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing across the board, I recommend my classes. Do not worry if you do not know the Korean alphabet at all. I teach Hangul in a clear and systematic way. Let’s learn together from the very beginning until you feel fluent.

Progress may look slow at first, but consistency ultimately beats any speed. The words you memorize today become tomorrow’s sentences, and those sentences come together to form your Korean. Our goal is not “perfect Korean,” but “the Korean you use.” When you express your daily life and interests in Korean, learning stops being study and becomes conversation. Come as you are at your current level. I will guide the way.
