In my beginner to intermediate classes, we will use the GENKI textbook along with original slides for grammar lessons. For advanced students, I offer conversation lessons, pronunciation practice, and JLPT preparation tailored to your needs. JLPT preparation will be based on the TRY textbook. After conversation lessons, I’ll send you an original list of vocabulary and expressions you might have struggled with, so you can review thoroughly!
I have over 1,000 hours of experience as a Japanese teacher and can provide instruction tailored to each student's level!

Sho is an incredible Japanese teacher!! He has kept lessons dynamic because he teaches while also getting to know his student's interests - and then he'll lean into those interests whenever the opportunity presents itself in lessons. He brings his sense of humor, patience, and kindness to each lesson, building a comfortable learning environment that keeps you engaged while also challenging you to keep improving. Sho-san is a very calm and friendly teacher. We're chatting about all kinds of topics in Japanese, which is a lot of fun and always interesting. Whenever I don't know a word or don't understand, what he said, he rephrases, explains or translates patiently. After each session Sho provides a file with all the words I didn't know, which is super helpful for learning and improving!
