Tokyo-born Native Japanese Speaker & Tutor!

・Born and raised in Tokyo for about 20 years, speaking standard Japanese naturally

・Studied abroad in Canada during high school → experienced the joy of conversing in foreign languages

・Currently majoring in CS (IT) at a university in Malaysia

・Training Karate for 10 years (Black belt holder!)

Tetsuomi is always chill and doesn't make me feel bad when i struggle to remember some things. He understands that speaking in a new language is nerve racking and he makes sure to transition smoothly into a teaching moment rather than make it more awkward then it already is when you mess up. Highly recommend.

Tetsuomi is great at meeting you where you are and supporting your learning goals. For me, I wanted to get more comfortable with making my own sentences, so we have conversations about what we have been up to since our last lesson, and he helps me with my sentence structure and vocabulary in an immersive way. I feel very comfortable practicing speaking Japanese with him, and look forward to even more lessons!

Tetsuomi-sensei is very kind and gentle, and he explains new words in a way that students can understand. During the lessons, we can also have conversations like friends :D
