My name is Maria. For more than forty years, I have taught Greek language and literature, both Ancient and Modern, in Greek high schools. Since 2016, I have also been teaching in a Greek minority school in Turkey, working in multilingual and multicultural educational environments.

Alongside my work in formal education, I have extensive experience in one-to-one and group tutoring, supporting students in strengthening their knowledge of Greek and successfully preparing them for demanding examinations.

I am trained in teaching Greek as a second/foreign language and hold certifications in e-learning and distance education, which I actively use in my online lessons. I am also trained in using AI in my classrooms most productively and effectively.

My greatest professional interest has always been my students. I value building trusting, calm, and respectful relationships, which I believe are essential for meaningful learning.

I have been actively involved in European educational projects such as Erasmus, eTwinning and Comenius, focusing on cooperation, cultural exchange and innovative teaching practices.

Outside teaching, I enjoy literature, cinema, the arts and travelling, and I remain genuinely curious about the digital world and lifelong learning.

I am a lifelong learner, constantly updating my skills to support my students better.

I have over 40 years of teaching experience in Greek secondary education, specialising in Greek language and literature (Ancient and Modern).

I am trained in the teaching of Greek as a Foreign/Second Language and have been teaching adult learners online since 2010. My work includes learners of all adult ages, from beginners to advanced students, with different goals and life commitments.

I have completed certified training in e-learning and distance education through European programmes and regularly integrate digital materials and interactive activities into my lessons.

I also have long experience in cooperative learning, gained through the coordination and implementation of numerous international and European school projects since 1996.

If learners wish, I prepare students for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek (Ellinomatheia) and support those who plan to study at Greek universities, combining exam preparation with solid language competence and understanding.

My one-to-one lessons are always tailored to the learner’s goals, pace and life circumstances.

I believe that effective learning happens in a calm, supportive and well-structured environment, without unnecessary pressure. Whether your aim is everyday communication, academic study, exam preparation or a deeper connection with Greek language and culture, lessons are designed to remain meaningful, realistic and sustainable over time.

We can focus on structured grammar, exam preparation, or simply enjoy meaningful conversations about history, literature, and daily life.
