Hello, My name is Chisom, I’m an experienced Igbo language teacher who specializes in teaching kids and adults .I hail from Imo state, Nigeria. I’m passionate about teaching and also passionate about impacting knowledge.

I have about 10 years of experience in teaching Igbo language. I have a bachelor's degree in agriculture so I can also help you with questions regarding it. My teaching methodology depends on the levels and age groups of the students. However, I’m well versed in the andragogical and pedagogical approaches.

Chisom is excellent! She makes the lessons really easy to follow. I’ve learned so much already, especially with pronunciation and tones. She's patient and explains things clearly, and always makes sure I understand before moving on. Definitely recommend if you want to learn Igbo in a comfortable and supportive way!

This is my second review for Chisom, and I felt compelled to update it as our work together continues. Learning Igbo as someone who spoke it early in life, lost it, and is now reclaiming it later is a very unique challenge. I’m not a true beginner, but I’m not fluent either—which means lessons must be flexible, personalized, and constantly adjusted. Chisom does this flawlessly. She meets me where I am. She tailors every session to my exact needs, recording personalized practice memos for me to use between lessons, and adapts instruction in a way that makes relearning feel both structured and encouraging. Her patience, skill, and creativity as a teacher are exceptional. If you are looking for a highly competent, thoughtful, and dedicated Igbo tutor—especially if your learning journey isn’t “traditional”—I cannot recommend Chisom highly enough. She is incredible, and I am so grateful for her guidance.
