My name is Gunnar, and I'm from Uppsala, Sweden, and I currently live in Småland in the south of Sweden. Previously, I lived in China for well over eight years. I'm an avid traveler, performer and singer, and I also love to meet people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds, you always learn something new that way. What's your story, I'm looking forward to hearing it, and also teaching you how to tell it in a new language to even more people ;)
I have six years' experience teaching English in China, mainly in classrooms, but also online. I've also been teaching here at LearnZone for well over one year. My main focus as a teacher is to make teaching as interactive as possible, with a predominant focus on making my students actively speak in all situations. Not only that, I will also teach more than just schoolbook language, such as interesting expressions and the way Swedes talk in daily life. But if you want to learn cusswords, you're gonna have to pay extra ;)
Learning a new language can be intimidating and stressful, as such I also actively work to make classes playful and fun, so that it will be easier for you to remember ;)

Gunnar is a very good tutor. He is supportive, patient, and always friendly. The learning environment in his classes is comfortable and helps build confidence in speaking a foreign language. He adjusts the study plan based on your level and can use multiple languages to explain concepts clearly. For example, he speaks fluent Chinese and can explain words in Chinese when needed. Learning Swedish with him has been a truly great experience.Markus

No knowledge of Swedish whatsoever? No problem!I will take you by the hand and teach you the basics, while also aiming to help you have simple conversations as soon as possible. We will work on grammar as time progresses, without focusing on it to the point where it gets exhausting and boring. You'll be able to say several simple sentences already after the first lesson ;)
Conversational Swedish
Have a problem with Swedes switching to English just because your Swedish isn't 100% perfect?Don't worry, I won't ever do that. There are countless students who know quite a bit of vocabulary in Swedish, but have very little experience in speaking. Does that sound like you?If the answer is yes, don't worry, we will work together to help you connect the dots, and ensure that your ability to hold a conversation will improve with every lesson. Not to mention, it's gonna be lots of fun ;)

Got a big test or interview coming up? Or do you just want to get great and FAST?I will help you simulate the setting you're gonna be in, to help you both with what you're gonna say and with overcoming anxiety. If you so desire, it will be like a boot camp, getting you ready to overcome whatever challenges you're up against.If you just want to learn and make progress fast, I'll make sure you'll be living, eating, breathing and sweating Swedish for every minute of the class. Before you know it, all is gonna be a cakewalk for you, and you'll look back at your progress with pride and amazement.But of course, have no fear, you'll still get to decide just how intense you want it to be ;)
