Hi! I’m Sofia, a native Greek speaker born and raised in Greece. I hold a degree in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and I’ve had the pleasure of teaching both in Greece and the UK. My experience includes working as a class teacher in British primary schools as well as teaching Greek at a Greek school in London. I’ve lived in the UK for three years and in France for over a year, which has enriched both my teaching and cultural perspective.

I’ve been tutoring since 2015, creating a wide range of interactive materials that I continuously update to keep lessons fresh and engaging. I’m a naturally creative person, and teaching allows me to bring that creativity into every lesson—which is why I truly love what I do!

Another reason I’m so passionate about teaching is my love for languages. I speak seven languages, including Greek, and I’m also a language learner myself here on LearnZone. At the moment, I’m learning Lebanese Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese, and I also speak Spanish, Italian, and French.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy painting, sewing, and staying active at the gym.

My teaching approach is fully student-centered. Once I understand your goals, I tailor each lesson to help you achieve them as efficiently as possible. I’ve worked with a wide variety of students—those preparing for exams, others wanting to communicate with family, travelers looking to learn basic phrases, as well as young learners who are not yet reading. Every lesson is adapted to fit each student’s unique needs and learning style.

Having worked extensively with children aged 5 and above, I understand how young learners engage best. I make lessons fun, interactive, and visually stimulating by incorporating games and creative activities.
