... from someone that has gone through what you are going through...
I'll tell you a little about myself and why I speak German and what drives me to support you on your journey:
- my name is Valeria
- I was born in Mexico, grew up between Spain and Germany,
- and became a German citizen after spending more than a decade in Berlin.
I've been through it: two complete life recontextualizations, two countries with bureaucratic systems that are quite different from each other. The process of studying in a language that isn't my mother tongue, until suddenly realizing that my closest friends are from the country I moved to: Germany. That I could understand rap. And that I had survived a naturalization process.
About my background:
- I have a Master's in Design with a focus on Digital Design,
- and I love bringing that perspective into the classroom.
It's important to me that you don't just learn to speak, but that you also understand the culture and the slang or find fun ways to connect words together.
I'll:
- recommend music,
- answer your questions,
- make sure you're not just speaking fast but also enjoying the process,
- as well as see how to tailor the class to your current level

About my teaching experience:
From 2022 to 2024 I taught UX and AR Design at the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, and my course ended up in the Top 3 of the department in student evaluations.
I enjoy teaching and seeing my students progress.
