Hello! My name is Jan, and together we will make your German flawless! I hold a Master's degree in German Studies and have also written a doctoral thesis. Additionally, I am certified as a teacher of German as a foreign language. I'm interested in literature, art, politics, and history. But I also love animals and nature. For example, I enjoy multi-day hikes in Sweden. So, we will have plenty of topics to chat about!

I've been teaching German for over ten years and have a certificate from the University of Hildesheim as well as a WBS certificate. In the past, I offered German courses for refugees in Germany. Nowadays, I mainly teach individuals from the academic field—such as university professors or students from around the world—to support them with their theses and seminars in German. I particularly enjoy working with newspaper articles or short videos and audio texts in German. The student receives a short text or video from me, and we discuss the topic in the upcoming lesson. We also talk about difficult words or challenging grammar from the video/text, and we correct your mistakes. If you also want to improve your written German, feel free to write short texts related to the articles/videos/audio texts, which we can then correct together in our lessons. For levels A2-B2, I like to use simple texts/videos specifically designed for learning German. For levels C1 and C2, I use authentic texts and videos from German newspapers or German television.
