Real Attorney. Real Experience. Let's Make the Law Click for You.

    About me

Hey! I'm Brendon, a licensed attorney practicing in the Washington D.C. area with several years of real-world legal experience across everything from courtrooms and litigation to corporate contracts and government regulations. I know what it actually feels like to go from knowing nothing about the law to passing the bar and building a career around it, which means I know exactly where students get confused and how to make things click. I have spent my career translating complex legal concepts into language that non-lawyers can understand and act on, and I bring that same skill to tutoring: no jargon, no condescension, just clear explanations and the kind of back-and-forth that actually helps things stick. I was an Articles Editor on my law school's Administrative Law Review, I have mentored junior colleagues throughout my career, and I genuinely love the moment when something complicated finally makes sense. Outside of law, I am a fantasy football enthusiast, a movie lover, and someone who can almost always find a way to make a dry topic interesting. Whether you are trying to ace a high school law class, prepare for law school, or just get your footing in your first semester of law school classes, I would love to help you get there.

I have not held a formal teaching title, but mentorship and instruction have been central to my legal career. As Articles Editor on the Administrative Law Review at American University Washington College of Law, I worked one-on-one with junior law students to develop their legal research and writing skills, providing detailed feedback, guiding them through complex edits, and helping them produce work they were proud of, which is, at its core, exactly what good tutoring looks like. I also hold a B.A. in Psychology and Linguistics from Emory University, which gave me a strong foundation in how people learn and communicate, and I have spent my entire legal career making complicated material accessible to clients, colleagues, and professional audiences who needed clarity, not complexity. Later this month, I will begin a position as a Legal Associate with the Lex Fellowship, a program that places attorneys in educational roles mentoring and instructing the next generation of legal professionals through law firm visits, guided legal discussions, and career development sessions. I was selected for this role specifically because of my ability to teach and connect with students.

Book a session with me and I promise you will leave understanding something you did not before (and actually feeling good about it). I know the law can feel intimidating, abstract, or just plain boring depending on how it is taught, but I have spent my career making it feel like none of those things, and I will bring that same energy to every session we have together. You will get a real attorney who has lived the material, a patient and encouraging teacher who will has been exactly where you are, and someone who is genuinely invested in helping you succeed rather than someone who is just reading off a textbook. First sessions are a great way to figure out what you need, where the gaps are, and how we can build a plan that actually works for you. I can't wait to get started helping you navigate the law!
