About me
Hola! I am 35 years old and was born in Guatemala (Central America). I work currently as a psychologist and I am doing a PhD in Migrations. I am a native Spanish speaker with an easy to understand accent and a very varied vocabulary thanks to my experience in several countries. My students say I am a friendly, patient, funny, motivating and with-a-big-smile tutor. They are right!
I have a very good professional track record in Austria, Guatemala, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, India, Chile, and the Netherlands. In addition, I have obtained an official accreditation from Spain to teach Spanish to Foreigners (ELE). Moreover, I have been working with people from different global regions, ages, and learning levels so I think I am your best choice!
I use teaching methods based on the learners' own abilities and likings. The best resources I offer my students are the confidence and comfort to get through the lessons.
Some of the topics I work on in the lessons are:
- Differences, vocabulary and phrases in Spanish from Spain and various Latin American countries
- Conversations on social topics
- Grammar (verb tenses, subjunctive, etc.)
- Cases supervision in Spanish (for mental health professionals)
- Role plays for business in Spanish
- Writing documents (essays, CVs, reports, etc.)
- Proofreading of theses, research, documents
- Spanish related to daily life, travel, work, studies, mental health, social rules, habits, traditions, etc.
I look forward to meeting you, sharing a good time practising Spanish and seeing you smile as you progress in your learning, I assure you that we will enjoy our time together!

Learning Spanish with Alex has been an absolute pleasure and I'm so glad that I went with him as my tutor! He pushes me to speak more Spanish and less English with every lesson but at the same time he is incredibly patient with me. His lessons are well thought out and interactive. You can tell straight away that he is very passionate about teaching. I highly recommend taking lessons with him, as he not only is a wonderful tutor but also a wonderful person!

Alex is a wonderful tutor - Very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. I look forward to my lessons with him each time and know that I will get loads of practice in speaking Spanish and learning vocabulary and sentence structures. He not only teaches vocabulary but is also able to explain the use of certain words in Spanish vs English. Additionally he has full knowledge of both Spanish (LA) and Spanish (ES) as well as English and can explain the use of various tenses in an easy to understand way.

Alex is experienced, friendly and his methods for the class are juuust wonderful. He knows well the common issues we have while speaking and provided good techniques to fix some of the mistakes I had talking to him. I feel like I’ll be able to understand and speak to the locals much more this time. Don't have doubts: He's a excellent Spanish teacher for you! Choose him!
