Hello everyone!! My name is Taiju, and I'm a Japanese guy born in America. I'm currently studying psychology at Santa Monica College, and I plan to transfer to a UC university this September. In my lessons, I aim to tailor the content to fit each student's unique characteristics and Japanese proficiency level. Alongside that, I’ll provide a space where students can enjoy learning about kanji, hiragana, reading, language basics, and more.

This is my first year teaching Japanese online, but I have experience teaching Japanese to family and friends in the past. Regarding my education, I studied Japanese for five years at El Marino Elementary School, took Japanese classes for three years in middle school, and completed two years of AP Japanese 5 immersion in high school, passing the AP exam as well. At home, I converse only in Japanese with my family.

I plan to teach students ranging from beginners to middle school level. While I can teach kanji, language structure, and sentence composition, my main focus will often be on conversation and vocabulary. My goal is to help students gain the confidence to converse in Japanese without any issues when they visit Japan.
