Hello, my name is Iris. I come from Domžale, Slovenia. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and attending cultural events. What I enjoy most about teaching Slovenian to foreigners is that I can give people a practical tool for everyday life. It’s a great feeling when students are able to start functioning in a Slovenian-speaking environment.

I have been teaching for several years now. I have diverse teaching experience, ranging from leading groups at the National Gallery to teaching in a primary school, as well as teaching Slovenian to adult foreigners who have relocated to Slovenia. These experiences have given me the ability to adapt my lessons to different ages, backgrounds, and learning styles.

At the beginning, I discuss each student’s goals and expectations, and then I adapt the lessons to suit their needs. The pace, length, and style of the lessons are flexible — more structured or playful, fast or slow. My goal is to make sure every student gets what they came for.
