Hello, welcome to my profile!

My name is Lauri, I'm 28 years old, and Dutch is my native language. I've been living in Barcelona for a few months now, where I'm currently learning Spanish. This gives me a great understanding of the challenges you face when learning a new language. At the same time, it's incredibly fun to immerse yourself in a new country with its own culture, customs, and language. The fact that we're both on this platform shows that we're motivated to learn, grow, and discover new worlds - and that's just amazing!

Let me tell you a bit more about my background. I grew up in a small village in the Netherlands, close to the German border, so I can also speak and understand a bit of German. I studied Dentistry at the university in Nijmegen, the city where I've lived for the past ten years.

During my master's program, I guided undergraduate students in acquiring practical skills in Dentistry. During that time, I discovered how much I enjoy teaching others something new and supporting them in their learning process.

Later in my career as a dentist, I regularly mentored interns. I like to take the time to explain things clearly and find it very important that my student truly understands. What motivates me the most is working with people who are curious, eager to learn, and motivated to improve themselves.

What can you expect from my lessons? First of all, I believe that every student is different. That's why we'll create a personalized learning plan together, fully tailored to your goals, level, and interests - whether you want to learn Dutch for daily life, work, or social situations.

Based on my own experience with learning a new language, I'm convinced that the best and fastest way to make progress is by speaking a lot. Therefore, the focus in my lessons is mainly on conversation. Of course, we'll also pay attention to vocabulary and grammar, but always in a practical way that you can apply directly in daily life - from informal chats to more professional situations.
