Hello, I am Dan!

I am an American writer, translator and tutor currently living in Canada and previously based in Hong Kong.

My hobbies include classical music, hiking, independent film, and international literature.

Though I hold a TEFL Level 3 certificate, I consider the in-person experience gained as a tutor to be more important. I help students in various ways, from using slang and idioms in everyday life to IELTS and TOEFL preparation.

Daniel is an incredibly kind and dedicated tutor. He always responds to messages promptly and tailors each class to meet individual students’ needs. You can freely ask him to prepare specific materials, and he is excellent at identifying your weaknesses and helping you work through them in future lessons. He also knows some Chinese, which sometimes makes explanations much clearer. Daniel consistently encourages his students and genuinely cares about their thoughts and feelings. I have weekly classes with him and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful and effective tutor.

Very good teacher, at all times we were able to understand each other and I was able to learn different words and terms in one lesson. If you have any specific needs with English, he adapts and helps you. 100% recommended!
