    About me

Hi, I'm' Gustavo! I'm a licensed math teacher with 5 years of experience, currently enrolled in a masters program in Pure Mathematics. Just trying to help ease up math's bad reputation around students.

I have 5 years of experience with private classes, and have been an academic tutor multiple times. In my classes, I use a tablet so I can send you our lessons afterwards on a pdf file.

Schedule a class with me so we can discuss your needs, objectives, and how I can help you achieve them. Learning Mathematics is a matter of recognizing patterns - which is easier when you have guidance and tutorship.

    My specialties

    Calculus

I can help you with the standard content of a Calculus course, limits, continuity, derivatives, integrals and their applications, such as finding the volume of a solid obtained by the rotation of a curve around an axis. The goal here is always to understand the "why" behind what we're doing, along with geometric visualization and examples (especially with derivatives and integrals).

    Functions

I can help you understand the basic concepts of a function (domain, range, codomain), the most common examples of functions (quadratic, exponential, logarithm and trig functions, etc), whether it is one-to-one, onto, or neither. We also cover the many applications of functions , such as in physics and biology.

    Trigonometry

Here, we'll go over the trigonometric relations on the right triangle, the trigonometric identities, the Sine and Cosine laws, and the Fundamental Relation of Trigonometry. We also study the properties of trigonometric functions, such as their domains, range and graphs.

    Ap calculus

We go in detail over limits, derivatives, integrals and their applications, both with practical and theoretical exercises. Among other topics, we cover the use of derivatives for optimization (maximizing and minimizing functions), limits and continuity (the fundamental trigonometric and exponential limits, the relationship between limit and continuity), integration by parts and change of variables (especially when covering trigonometric functions).
