Hi there! My name is Koen, I’m 25 years old and I’m from the Netherlands. I really enjoy learning new languages and discovering more about cultures from all around the world. That’s why I decided to start teaching Dutch this year. I wanted to experience language learning from the other side by teaching instead of just being a student.
I’m still quite new to teaching, so I decided to dive right in and sign up with LearnZone to gain some practical experience. The feedback I’ve received so far has been positive, so I’m confident that I can provide you with a great lesson!
I have a lot of experience with the Dutch language; it’s my mother tongue, and I studied journalism, which requires a strong command of Dutch. I see myself as approachable, open, and non-judgmental, which I believe are important qualities for a safe learning environment. I hope to see you soon in one of my classes!

I’m very satisfied with Koen’s teaching style. Because he speaks to me in Dutch during the lessons, I was able to start understanding and speaking Dutch much faster than I expected. The lessons were always helpful, fun, and covered all the topics I was curious about. Definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Dutch in an enjoyable and effective way :)Beril

He is so kind and understanding. I like the way he works, he carefully listens and if there is a mistake in the sentence he shows that. I think its really valuable because one can also learn from the mistakes. Thanks!

Koen is an amazing tutor! Every class is engaging, with interesting topics, important grammar, and a lot of fun. He personalizes the lessons based on what you need to work on, which makes learning very effective and diverse. The environment in his classes is safe, supportive, and completely non-judgmental. Actually great lessons. I needed someone to have converstations with to expand my vocabulary and practice speaking/listening, and also (most importantly) to point out what I say incorrectly and how can I make my dutch sound better. And I'm actually impressed by the amount and detail of this feedback that I receive. I can't really rate him on how well he explains grammar and stuff like that as I already knew the basics, but from my experience theese lessons are exactly what I was looking forAlex
