Hello, my name is Grace! I'm from Northern Virginia, but I studied at Virginia Tech. Before working at LearnZone, I was an English tutor for Ukrainian students and taught Russian to beginners. I fell in love with the Russian language after reading Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. In my free time, I enjoy biking and learning different languages. Right now, I'm studying German.
I've been working as a tutor for five years, teaching Russian, French, and English. English is my native language, and I hold a degree in Russian and French. I've studied abroad in Latvia and France. I was a tutor for Russian and French at the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures at Virginia Tech. I use practical teaching methods, like role-playing in everyday situations, so students can learn more naturally. I prefer to introduce students to new grammar and vocabulary before we use practical methods, so we can mix them into the role-play.

Grace is literally so effective and friendly. She creates an environment where you don’t feel judged when you use new words or cases you’re less experienced with. All lessons are engaging and thoroughly planned. Highly recommend her as a teacher!Gregory

Grace has been an excellent tutor! Since the beginning, I have enjoyed every lesson I've had with her. They are always very interesting and engaging as she gives examples with cultural background, with new vocabulary and phrases throughout the lessons. She'll also throw in some fun facts about the lesson or just something about the language, which makes it fun! I really enjoy the role-playing aspect of the lessons, as it gives you the chance to practice your speaking skills. Honestly, I never thought I would do anything like that, but she's made it enjoyable and is very understanding and patient. I would highly recommend her for learning Russian. She's a wonderful person, and I wish to continue learning with her.Nicolas

Grace has been such a joy to work with! She’s incredibly kind, patient, and always so encouraging.
