Hi there! My name is Sofía, and I hope this little summary helps you get to know me a bit better. I come from Uruguay. I'm a psychologist by profession, and I've always loved supporting and helping people in their learning and development processes. My native language is Spanish, and I also studied Italian since I was little. I hold a B2 certification (First Certificate in English, FCE) from Cambridge, and at one point, I started preparing for the Cambridge Proficiency (C2), although I couldn't finish it due to personal circumstances. Still, I believe my level has advanced significantly since then, so I'm currently considering renewing and updating my certification.

While I'm not a teacher and don't have formal pedagogical training, my knowledge of the language is consistent, and I can navigate different contexts with confidence. This can be complemented by my psychological training, which provides me with useful tools to interact with people, create a good communication atmosphere, and conduct lessons in an organized manner.

Learning with Sofia has been exactly what I needed. I want to study a particular dialect. Sofia quickly taught me where the differences were compared to mainstream Spanish. She also identified two of my interests which she incorporates into the exercises. I enjoy my lessons with Sofia very much. She is patient, positive and supportive.

Sofia is a great teacher and a pleasure to learn with. Her lessons are organized and well-thought out, but she is also happy to go off topic and follow my interests when the conversation veers towards a different subject, or create a new lesson plan if I mention something that I'd like to learn more about. She goes above and beyond to make the class educational, but also fun.
