Mao san is an excellent Japanese language tutor. She is always prepared for the classes and her classes are well structured. Mao san is motivated and super helpful on my questions regarding Japanese. Her classes are easy to follow and no stress at all.

Our lessons cover a wide range of skills, including reading, speaking, and listening, and she’s especially talented at helping me turn what I can say into Japanese that sounds more natural, fluent, and native-like. She doesn’t just correct mistakes—she explains why something sounds better one way and helps me actually internalize it. What really sets Mao apart is how much she genuinely cares about her students’ progress. She always goes above and beyond to make sure I understand, even when I make mistakes often. Her patience and encouragement make it easy to keep trying without feeling discouraged, and I always leave lessons feeling more confident than when I started. Mao is also incredibly gentle, kind, and easy to get along with, which makes every lesson comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking to improve multiple aspects of Japanese while also learning how to sound more natural and fluent in real conversations, I couldn’t recommend Mao more highly.

Mao is a great teacher. She puts a lot of effort into planning lessons for my needs, and sends me notes to study in my own time. She always has a fun energy, and makes each lesson exciting. Because I lived in Japan previously and had a decent daily level, but never studied formally, I was a little intimidated to start studying, but she made me feel comfortable and helped me find my a good starting point.
