    About me

Hello, my name is Abdurrahman, and I’m from Egypt. I’m a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Istanbul Technical University, and mathematics has always been one of the subjects I enjoy the most.

Over the past few years, teaching has become more than just a profession for me. I truly enjoy helping students understand difficult math topics, especially when they start gaining confidence after feeling confused or stressed.

I work with students from different countries, levels, and academic systems. Outside of teaching, I enjoy engineering, problem solving, and continuously improving the way I explain mathematics in a clear and practical way.

I have completed more than 1000 online lessons and have several years of experience teaching mathematics to students with different goals, levels, and learning styles.

I teach a wide range of international curricula and exam systems, including IB Math MYP and DP, AA and AI, SL and HL, SAT Math, AP Calculus, ACT Math, IGCSE/GCSE, GED Math, and University Calculus 1 and 2.

My engineering background gives me a strong foundation in mathematics, calculus, and analytical thinking. This helps me explain concepts logically and connect abstract ideas to clear problem-solving methods.

My lessons are structured, calm, and adapted to each student. I usually begin by identifying the student’s current level, weak points, and goals. Then we build understanding step by step through clear explanations, guided examples, practice questions, and regular progress tracking.

I focus on understanding, not memorizing. My goal is to help students know why a method works, how to apply it correctly, and how to feel more confident when solving questions independently.

Book a trial lesson with me so we can discuss your goals, identify the areas you need support with, and create a clear plan for improvement.

Whether you are preparing for an exam, struggling with school topics, taking university calculus, or trying to rebuild your confidence in math, I will guide you step by step.

In our lessons, you can expect clear explanations, organized practice, patient support, and a learning pace that matches your needs. Together, we will make math feel more logical, manageable, and less stressful.

Your online math lessons have been truly productive and motivating. Thanks to your patience and clear way of explaining the topics, I was able to understand many concepts that once seemed very difficult. I especially appreciate how you explain questions using different methods and provide examples that make it easier for every student to understand. Your lessons not only teach mathematics but also help develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Thank you for being a teacher who values and motivates students and supports their learning. It is truly a great opportunity to learn from you. 🙂

    My specialties

    Elementary math

I have experience teaching students in grades 3, 4, and 5 — helping them strengthen their foundational skills, address learning gaps, and explore new concepts such as division and geometry.

    Math for kids

I have taught many kids in different grade levels, and it’s always amazing to see them improve and understand new math concepts with confidence. In my lessons I am patient, friendly, and always make sure your child feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I explain ideas step by step, use simple language, and give lots of practice so that each new topic becomes clear and easy. I also keep parents updated about progress and next goals, so we can work together to support your child. My aim is not only to raise grades, but to help your child feel proud, motivated, and happy while learning math.

    Calculus

I have experience helping high school and university students strengthen their understanding of Calculus — from the basics of limits and derivatives to advanced topics like integrals and applications in physics and engineering. As a mechanical engineer, I focus on clear explanations and real-world examples to make complex ideas easier to grasp.

    IB Math

I have experience teaching IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (HL), where I helped a student prepare intensively for their exams over the course of a month. The student showed great improvement and was very satisfied with the lessons. With my background in mechanical engineering and experience teaching calculus, I focus on developing strong conceptual understanding, logical thinking, and exam-ready problem-solving skills.

    GCSE Math

I love teaching GCSE Mathematics for both the Foundation and Higher Tiers, as well as high school grades 10, 11, and 12. My lessons focus on building a clear understanding of core concepts, improving problem-solving skills, and preparing students confidently for their exams.

    Math for preschoolers

I enjoy working with very young learners and helping them take their first steps in math in a fun and gentle way. With preschoolers, my lessons focus on play-based learning: counting objects, recognizing numbers, comparing sizes, simple patterns, shapes, and basic problem-solving through games, stories, and everyday examples.I always keep activities short, colorful, and interactive so children stay engaged and feel successful. At this age, building confidence, curiosity, and a positive attitude toward math is more important than getting everything “perfect,” so I celebrate effort and small achievements.I also share simple ideas with parents on how to practice numbers and shapes at home in a natural way (during playtime, daily routines, or while reading books together), so your child can keep learning happily even after the lesson ends.

    Functions

Functions are the heart of mathematics — mastering them means mastering math itself. I focus on helping students truly understand how functions work, how to visualize them, and how they connect different areas of mathematics. Once this foundation is strong, everything else becomes easier to learn.

    Trigonometry

Trigonometry has always been one of my favorite subjects — I see it as a playground full of puzzles waiting to be solved. I enjoy helping students discover the logic and beauty behind trigonometric relationships, making the learning process both engaging and deeply rewarding.

    Ap calculus

As a mechanical engineering graduate, I work with calculus all the time in areas like motion, forces, and optimization, so I’m very comfortable explaining both the concepts and their real-life applications. I have experience helping high-school and first-year university students with Calculus, including AP Calculus AB/BC topics such as limits, derivatives, integrals, and differential equations. In lessons, I break problems down step by step, focus on common exam question types, and teach strategies for showing clear work and avoiding mistakes. My goal is to help students feel confident, prepared, and able to truly understand why the methods they use in AP Calculus work.

    SAT Math

I joined my university through the SAT, so I understand the challenges students face when preparing for this exam. I focus on teaching effective strategies, time management, and problem-solving techniques to help students overcome difficulties and achieve high scores in SAT Math.
