My name is Deborah.
I'm originally from London, but have been living in Jerez, Spain for the past 8 years.
Some of my interests include flamenco dance, painting and trekking in the mountains.
I am Cambridge TEFL certified and have been teaching English for over 30 years, helping students from over 100 countries around the world.
I'm a Business English specialist and work with many students on interview preparation.
I also teach a variety of subjects such as grammar, vocabulary, phrasal verbs, collocations and pronunciation.
There is no better reward than helping my students develop confidence when using English so that they can make their dreams come true!
I make real time, constructive corrections in class and type native phrases and vocabulary to help my students express themselves in a more natural way.
I am creative when creating sentences for study, and make sure to incorporate the grammar and vocabulary we are working on. This allows my students to implement what they have learned spontaneously when they speak in different contexts in the future.
My classes are not a 'one size fits all'.
I provide a comfortable, engaging, safe and fun classroom environment for my students to enjoy learning in.
I recently passed the C1 Instituto Cervantes Spanish exam, so I understand how hard, frustrating and confusing learning a language can sometimes be!

I’ve been having conversational English lessons with Deb for a while now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. From day one, she made me feel completely at ease. Our classes never feel like a chore - they are more like deep chats with a friend over coffee. I enjoy Deb´s energy and approach. One thing I really appreciate is how she takes notes on my mistakes in the chat without pointing them out while I’m speaking. This allows me to stay in the flow and express myself freely, without feeling nervous or interrupted. We then go over everything together afterwards, which works really well for me. On top of that, she is genuinely interested in her students: their needs, goals, and preferences, which really shows in her teaching. The lessons are engaging and tailored to me. All in all, I would highly recommend Deb to anyone looking to improve their English. If you’re on the fence, just give it a try, you might find it’s exactly what you’ve been looking for. My first 5 lessons were very enjoyable and met my needs. The lessons are personalized in terms of educational content, but also in terms of mediation. All aspects of comprehension or written or oral expression can be explored, according to the student's expectations.Simona
