Γειά σας! I’m Leonidas. I studied Greek Language and Literature at the University of Athens and have been teaching Greek to foreigners for a year now — a truly rewarding experience! I’ve worked with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, helping them learn the language and connect with Greek culture through engaging, tailored lessons. I love exploring cultures and languages—I speak Greek, English, and German, and I’m currently learning Chinese. Fascinated by language structures, I enjoy understanding how each language builds meaning and challenging myself with high-level language exams C1-C2. In my leisure time, I enjoy music, reading, and traveling!
As a teacher, I am calm, approachable, and genuinely open to meeting people from all backgrounds. I believe that the key to successful learning is a well-organized lesson that allows you to discover the Greek language step by step, while emphasizing effective communication. I enjoy incorporating authentic materials—such as articles, literature, and videos—to make lessons engaging and relevant. Each session is carefully structured according to your needs, goals, and interests, ensuring that learning is not only effective but also enjoyable. My aim is to create a supportive environment where you feel confident to practice, ask questions, and grow your skills at your own pace.

I have had a great experience so far with Leonidas. He goes beyond surface-level instruction and really delve into the deeper context behind the language, which makes everything easier to understand and remember. He spends helpful time on common phrases that are especially useful for foreigners planning to travel, focusing on what you actually need to hear and say in real situations. He is very patient and supportive, allows you to take your time, pause when needed, and never makes you feel rushed. Leonidas is a wonderful Greek teacher – even for difficult cases (see below). He is always highly motivated and friendly, always punctual and reliable, but also flexible, speaks very good German, and brings structure to the lessons by always providing a well-suited lesson text. The language student is my nearly blind 90-year-old mother-in-law, whose special needs Leonidas has very well accommodated from the very beginning. She has been taking lessons with him for eight months, and she continues to look forward to every session.Esther

I have been learning with Leonidas for two months now. Leonidas is very empathetic but also very competent. He always checks if the lessons are tailored for me. I can say that I have already learned a lot in these two months. And the most important thing: it’s just fun!
