About me
Hi! I’m Julia, a native Brazilian teacher with Korean roots, passionate about helping students speak naturally and confidently in Portuguese.
Before becoming a full-time teacher, I spent many years working in the corporate world in finance, so I know how important it is to communicate clearly and professionally. My background helps me guide students who want to improve their Portuguese for both personal and business contexts.
In my classes, we focus on grammar and conversation from the very first lesson so you can start expressing yourself clearly while understanding why things are said that way. I believe real fluency comes from both structure and practice, not one or the other.
Every student gets access to a personalized folder with all materials and homework. We use videos, texts, games, news, and real-life situations to make learning fun, practical, and effective. You’ll also explore Brazilian culture, from music and everyday expressions to traditions and the way people truly speak.
I pay close attention to pronunciation and natural speech, helping you sound more like a real native speaker, not just someone who studied the language.
I’m currently traveling the world while teaching online, meeting incredible students from different backgrounds and helping them reach real fluency in Portuguese.

With beginners, we go through the basics clearly and step by step. Grammar is necessary, of course, but always taught in a simple, interactive way.You’ll speak from the very first class. We use reading, role plays, conversation, and lots of examples to help you build confidence little by little. Even if you’re starting from zero, you’ll leave the first lesson already speaking something in Portuguese.
Conversational Portuguese
My classes are fully focused on helping you speak naturally and confidently in real situations. We go beyond textbook Portuguese, working with useful vocabulary, informal expressions, and the rhythm of real conversation.Whether you’re preparing for a trip, living abroad, or talking to Brazilian friends or family, we’ll practice through role plays, dialogue, short texts, and lots of real-life examples. No scripts. Just real talk, at your pace.
Intensive Portuguese
I’ve worked with students preparing for interviews, exams, job relocation, and life in Brazil with tight deadlines. In intensive classes, we move faster, but still with clarity and structure.I combine grammar, vocabulary and conversation in a way that’s practical and focused on your specific goals. Each class comes with review material, real-life practice, and clear next steps. We keep it intense, but human.
