About me

Hi! My name is Ian. I am 44 years old. I was born in England, but I have been living and working in Istanbul, Turkey for the past 10 years. I have more than a decade of ESL classroom experience and over 8000 lessons completed online. I'm very excited to see my students progress their skills and enjoy their time learning. I love playing the guitar, space, science and nature, meeting new people and sports such as Karate, Snowboarding and Surfing. I Iook forward to meeting you and having many enjoyable lessons together.

I am a TEFL and TESOL certified Teacher. I have over 10 years of experience teaching full time in a major K12 school here in Istanbul, Turkey, I also have 3 years online teaching experience via distance learning during Covid-19 times, and further experience with private online lessons. I am particularly effective with young learners aged 3-18 as I have worked extensively with this age group. My classes are relaxed and very enjoyable, whilst paying close attention to grammar and vocabulary. I feel providing a fun learning environment is the most effective way of seeing fantastic results, particularly for young learners.

Ian is a very patient and experienced teacher who thoughtfully prepares every lesson for my son, Yuan You, often using educational reading materials.
