About me
My name's Valeria and I'm from Verona (north-east of Italy). After earning my MA degree in Philosophy in Ireland (Cork) in 2023, I decided to move back to Italy for good (because I was missing the sun and the cuisine and the language way too much!).
I have been teaching here on LearnZone for over a year now and I have 1000+ hours taught.
My teaching methodology is largely conversational, based upon guided conversation practice or everyday role-play scenarios.
As the conversation/role-play goes on, every now and then, I draw my student's attention to key vocabulary as well as pertinent grammar structures/verb tenses (which we then insert into designated tables).
In order to aid reinforcement and cumulative learning, I then return to the given vocabulary/grammar structures again and again during upcoming lessons.
In addition to conversation practice interspersed with grammar and vocabulary, I also make use of other pedagogical tools, such as L2 texts to aid comprehension and YouTube videos to train the ear.

Mi piace imparare l’italiano con Valeria:) As a complete beginner, I’m genuinely amazed at how much I’ve learned with Valeria. She is incredibly dedicated, very friendly and approachable, and always well organized and structured. Valeria is able to spontaneously adapt our conversation to provide just enough challenge to push my language use. She adds vocabulary that I need to better express my ideas and guides me to think through how to improve my communication. She is energetic throughout the entire lesson.hannah
