Hi, I’m Jack, a fully qualified British English teacher with a BA and MA in English Literature and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Teaching English). I also have specific certifications in TEFL and teaching for the IELTS. I have spent years teaching in China, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the UK, working with students of all levels to improve their English skills.
I have specialist experience in teaching English Language and Literature in both the UK and US curriculums at 'outstanding' schools. I have prepared students successfully for iGCSE, GCSE, SAT, A-Level, IB and AP exams. Many of these students have gone on to study English Language or Literature at university.
I also have extensive experience in preparing students for English proficiency exams such as the IELTS, including for visa and immigration purposes, and university/school applications.
I will put significant effort into planning and preparing for your lessons, and will make myself available for contact throughout the week. I will provide resources, mark homework and create any additional revision materials that you need when you are preparing for an exam.

My specialties
Conversational English
I have many years teaching conversational English both one-on-one and in the classroom. I have taught conversational English classes in Eastern Europe, China and the Middle East, as well as extensively here on LearnZone.
Business English
I have taught Business English extensively here on LearnZone (from software engineers to CMOs and CFOs), and also at university level in China.
IELTS
I have prepared many students for IELTS both in the classroom and online, with the majority scoring 7+. I have a specific qualification in teaching IELTs (Bridge 20-Hour Teaching IELTS Exam Prep).
English for beginners
I have taught English for beginners for 10+ years - from absolute A1 beginners, to those starting with some knowledge. I have taught English for beginners extensively in the classroom and online.
American English
I speak with a British English accent, and use British English. However, my wife is American, I am in America currently, and I taught in an American curriculum school for 5 years.

I have provided intensive English courses to Middle and High Schoolers, as well as to a range of adult learners.

I speak with a standard British accent, and understand deeply grammar, spelling and punctuation associated with British English.
English for traveling
I know what it's like to travel and not know the language - I have lived and worked in many different countries. I will provide the basics that you will need to get the most out of your travel.

I have helped many ESL students prepare for an English Language job or college interview, many of whom have been successful and gone on to work for international companies.
