Hello, my name is Daniel and I'm an assistant professor of mathematics at Shorter University. Shorter is a small private university, so I have a lot of experience working one-on-one with students to help them master concepts that they were struggling to understand. From a young age, I've had a passion for teaching, for helping others to understand new things and inspiring a love of learning in the people around me. I tutored my fellow students all through my undergraduate degree, and I worked as a teaching assistant through graduate school, further developing my teaching skills. Altogether, I have over 10 years of experience tutoring and teaching. I am confident that I can help you gain a solid grasp of whatever branch of mathematics you are studying, whether you're solving linear equations or finding splitting fields for irreducible polynomials.

I enjoy playing chess, reading fantasy fiction and philosophy, hunting, and just generally learning new things.

I have 8 years of teaching experience, and an additional 3 years of tutoring experience. I have a bachelor's degree in math education from Taylor University and a doctorate in mathematics from Iowa State University. I teach college algebra every semester, which is a general education class, so I have a lot of experience helping students that are struggling with a concept to develop methods for problem solving that are matched with the way they think. I've also taught precalculus, calculus 1, 2 and 3, linear algebra and real analysis.
