Hello everyone! My name is Ajeng. A full-time language tutor, creative educator & book author. As a language enthusiast, I’ve always had a passion for languages and books since I was a kid. This passion led me to pursue a degree in literature, where I focused on linguistics and completed my thesis on language.
But the year I graduated was when the pandemic hit. Long story short, I “accidentally” got into a teaching career, which had never crossed my mind before. But it’s turned out to be my favorite thing to do now. I think my passion for language has expanded from learning languages to teaching them. Since 2021, I’ve been teaching students of all ages from around the world and have overcome the ups and downs of teaching.
As someone who has studied several languages, I understand the excitement AND the challenges. I’m here to support you without judgment and celebrate your progress, not your perfection. I create engaging lessons, focus on practical communication, and most importantly, encourage you to speak confidently from day one. Mistakes? Totally welcome! They’re part of learning!

Ajeng is an amazing teacher! So patient and always helping me to fill in the vocabulary I’m missing. She always comes prepared with a topic for us to discuss which is great because it pushes me to talk about new things in Indonesian!

My specialties
Indonesian for beginners
I provide modules for this class (from levels A1 to B1). When you take a trial class, we will conduct a placement test, and the class will start according to your level. There will be 8-12 sessions for each level. Students will also receive worksheets and vocabulary lists at the end of each session to practice at home. This class will focus on grammar, listening, reading, writing, and a bit of conversation.
Conversational Indonesian
In the conversation class, I have a list of topics that can be chosen for each session. You can also suggest your own topic if you'd like, but please make sure to communicate it beforehand. This class will focus on building your confidence in everyday conversations. You'll learn a lot of modern vocabulary that's useful for daily life.
Intensive Indonesian
Basically, this class is similar to the Indonesian for Beginners and Conversational Indonesian classes. However, it is adjusted for those who want a balanced mix of conversation and grammar. This class is open to those who want to take sessions 3-5 times a week.
Business Indonesian
I’ve created this class for those who want to learn Indonesian with a focus on business communication. In this class, we’ll cover essential business vocabulary, formal email writing, presentations, and negotiation techniques in Indonesian. Perfect for professionals who want to improve their language skills for the workplace.
Indonesian for Children
I have over 4 years of experience teaching languages to children, both professionally and as a volunteer. In this class, I focus on ensuring that children feel comfortable exploring a new language. The modules I create are modified according to the students' age. The class will be dominated by an interactive and engaging learning style for children. It is open from levels Pre A1 to A2.
Indonesian Literature
As someone who studied literature at university, I definitely had to open this class. This is a special class for those of you interested in the world of literature, especially Indonesian literature. We can discuss poetry, novels, short stories, songs, rhymes, and other topics related to the literary world.
