I cannot say enough great things about Celia. She has been tutoring me in Spanish for over 6 months now, and our meetings are always the highlight of my week. She is extremely knowledgeable about the grammar, syntax, and the overall grammatical systems/structures of both the Spanish and English languages. She knows the ins and outs, and she knows how to break down these things to explain to Spanish learners. This allows us to not just blindly memorize, but instead allows us to actually understand the WHY behind the rules and things. People have told me for years that I ask a lot of questions, and I really do. When I tell you that Celia answers all of my MANY questions and then some, no estoy bromeando (I am not joking). She is constantly teaching me new things. Every single lesson I leave knowing more Spanish than I did coming in. She listens very well and she notices the concepts that I am not understanding. She makes note of them, and then she creates/delivers a mini-ish lesson on the subject to me, providing examples and asking me to practice too, and then she always gives me homework that requires me to practice more. We’ve never had a boring class. She switches things up by making me practice the four domains (listening in Spanish, speaking in Spanish, reading in Spanish, and writing in Spanish) and she keeps me on my toes. One class we’re discussing the subjunctive tense, and then another class we are interviewing each other (and speaking in Spanish non-stop). There’s literally so much more I could say, but I’ll end this review by just discussing Celia’s personality. She is genuinely a wonderful, sincere, caring, and compassionate person. She always encourages me when I get discouraged and she inspires me to keep studying. Our conversations are literally so enjoyable and she legitimately makes language learning not feel like work at all – it just feels like fun. Sometimes by the end of our 50-minute class, it hits me and I realize that I just had a 50-minute long conversation in another language, when 6 months ago I couldn’t string together a simple sentence without using Google translate. I literally feel so blessed that I found her on this website and have gotten to learn from her for over 6 months. I have a close friend who is from El Salvador and he always tells me that it blows his mind how much my Spanish has improved, and I always (and will always) accredit mi increíble tutora, Celia. By the way, I am 30 years old and have wanted to know Spanish since I was in middle school, but I just couldn't "get it" and quit many times throughout the years. Receiving tutoring has changed the game for me, and I feel like I found the best one. If you need a tutor, book Celia. Seriously. You will not regret it.

Fantastic tutor! I have been learning Spanish from Celia for close to a year now, and I’m seeing great progress. She does a great job of identifying areas where you need improvement and focusing on those to create a great learning experience. She does an excellent job planning lessons. I see myself continuing lessons with her for the foreseeable future!

As a workgroup facilitator, I have plenty of experience in Conversational Spanish and English.
Intensive Spanish
As an online tutor and in-person tutor, I have developed 3-month plans for students looking to gain knowledge about the uses of tenses and vocabulary (considering each student's current level and goals). I provide activities to keep practicing real-life uses and scenarios outside the online classroom.
Latin American Spanish
The Spanish I Speak is Mexican Spanish, one of the most neutral accents in Spanish-speaking countries. As you may know, the Spanish language has many accents and Mexican Spanish is one of the most spoken ones.
