About me
I am a native English speaker (US) with a master's in English (TESOL) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and many years of teaching experience.
I believe writing for enjoyment is a wonderful way to learn a second language. It doesn't have to be perfect to help you improve! I will show you short examples of English writing that will inspire you to try it yourself. I have a lot of ideas to get you writing in class and between classes. I can teach you about interesting concepts such as connotation, personification, metaphor, rhythm, rhyme, and alliteration. Much of the class time will be speaking about interesting things that have happened in your life because this brings up ideas for writing.
My interests: I love nature, art, music, watching movies with my family, studying Spanish, and teaching English. I also write short stories for enjoyment. I believe language study is a way to find a clear voice and participate more fully in work and society.
I have taught English for more than 15 years. I taught university students, community members, and children. I have taught beginning, intermediate, advanced, and proficient students in speaking, grammar, and writing. I have been teaching with LearnZone for three years.
