About me
Hi, I’m Chenxi. I have a corporate background working across Hong Kong and Shanghai, with experience serving global clients in finance, technology, legal services, consulting, retail, and education, as well as individual professionals and public figures.
I’ve taught Chinese learners worldwide, from complete beginners to advanced professionals, united by a clear goal: using the Chinese language and cultural understanding as a tool for long-term personal and professional growth.
I work with three main types of learners:

🔵 Learners with some background who want to “fill the gaps” and become more natural
🔵 Professionals who need Mandarin for real work scenarios and specific fields
I use textbooks and frameworks when helpful, but I don’t teach for exams alone, because real life is not an exam. From the very beginning, we focus on language you can actually use.
I believe consistency, clarity, and realistic practice matter more than rushing levels, and my role is to help you build confidence step by step.

I think Chenxi is a fantastic teacher. I have worked with her multiple times per week for the past 7 months. I started off with no knowledge of Mandarin and I spent the entire first month focusing on just pronunciation. She was patient and understanding, helping me to understand and "hear" the tones in a slow, controlled environment. Once I could hear and speak the tones, we moved into sentence structures (and how they differ from English) while improving and expanding vocabulary and finally, onto basic conversational Chinese. She was always punctual, always prepared and really seemed vested in my journey to learn basic Mandarin. I would recommend her to anyone, she is an A+Charles

I've been studying with Chengxi 老師 for the past few months, and I'm incredibly glad I found her. Before working with Chengxi, I had lessons with a couple of other highly rated teachers on the platform. In my experience, Chengxi stands out in every way. I have very high expectations for teachers. I value someone who comes to every lesson well prepared, thinks carefully about how to make the most of our time, and actively adapts the learning plan to my goals and progress. Chengxi does exactly that. She pushes me to improve while also being flexible when work and life make it difficult to maintain a consistent pace. One thing I particularly appreciate is her ability to customize lessons based on my needs. I've asked for everything from business Mandarin relevant to my job to building a stronger foundation in reading and writing, and she has been able to tailor our lessons accordingly while continuously adjusting the approach as I progress. Her teaching style is smooth, engaging, and encouraging. She's always punctual, always positive, and always focused on helping me improve efficiently. I never feel like class time is wasted. Chenxi helped me start from zero Chinese and very quickly start speaking about my real life. The beginning was very smooth and kind of unexpected you dont stay long in theory you just start talking about your daily habbits and surroundings. I liked how personal the lessons were. She notice everything my hobbies the customers I work with my habbits with my wife and use it in class. We talk about all this in Chinese so it really feels like my real life is happening in Chinese. She also follow my pace and explain things clear. Because of that I start speaking with my Chinese customers much sooner than I expected. Overall simple practical and very effective. Look no further and book that lesson cuz you will be lucky to have such a tutor.Esther

I have been having lessons with Chenxi for many months now and it has been amazing! Chenxi is very friendly and has a great teaching style, in which she tailors what is best for you. I have been able to remember and use the Chinese I have learnt in my daily life seamlessly due to Chenxi’s way of teaching - as someone with bad memory 🤣!
