Hello everyone! I’m Wilco, and I’ve been working as a language teacher for 13 years. I worked at a variety of schools for nine years, and I’ve been teaching here on LearnZone for four years.

I’m a native Dutch speaker who moved to Turkey. After moving to Turkey, I started learning the Turkish language, and I can now speak it confidently. Living in another country has also made me deeply interested in cultural differences and in how people experience and express feelings differently across cultures.

After earning my master’s degree in the Netherlands, I moved to Turkey. There, I obtained a TESOL certificate and started my career as a language teacher. I have taught both Dutch and English at a variety of schools, and I later began teaching both languages here on LearnZone.

During my time on LearnZone, I have helped students successfully pass the Inburgeringsexamen and the Staatsexamen NT1/2. I have also taught students at all levels (from A1 to C2), and I can teach children as well.

My methodology generally involves a combination of grammar instruction and actively using the language through speaking and writing exercises. This approach helps students start using the language quickly and confidently.

During our trial class, we will take time to introduce ourselves. I will give a lesson, and we will discuss how future classes will be structured. This way, you can clearly see what a class with me is like, explain your goals, and we can create a lesson plan tailored to your needs.

I would also like to add that I speak Turkish at a high level. For beginner students, it is possible to use Turkish as well, and Turkish can always be used as a supportive language during our classes.
