My program is focused on not only mastering the grammar and vocabulary used in each lesson, but also each lesson revolves around a theme so that you can see everything in action. We focus not only on the specific grammar of the lesson, but we also practice using it together, so that you can become more conversationally fluent more quickly.Because of this, we can slowly decrease the amount of English we use in each lesson and increase the amount of Italian we use, until we reach a fully immersive classroom. My program consists of written exercises, reading exercises, listening and video dialogues so that you can have a lot of practice in each of the four target areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I also make sure to incorporate plenty of review to identify and fill in any gaps in your knowledge.

In my beginner's program, each lesson revolves around a theme, so that you can learn the appropriate vocabulary for that situation, but also the grammar that would be required. The dialogues also help you to get a sense of how Italians communicate. As I have learned several foreign languages myself, I can relate to your learning process and help you to identify difficult topics and simplify them.

For test prep Italian and Italian certifications, we work together to first identify your goals (i.e. reaching a certain level, improvement upon previous test scores, general test score goals, practicing speaking skills, etc.), and I tailor my lesson plan to meet your goals, by including additional lessons and reinforcement in that direction.By incorporating plenty of review to identify and fill in any gaps in your knowledge, we can work together to help you reach your certification and testing goals!

Literature and Reading Comprehension is important for the mastery of the Italian language. When focusing on Italian literature, we read a variety of different texts and analyze them together, go through new vocabulary words, and discuss the texts at length. This way, we can uncover the themes of the passages together and open a new door into learning about Italian history and culture.We can start incorporating Italian literature into our lessons at any level of knowledge or mastery-- adding literature and reading passages can help to more quickly build upon one's vocabulary!

With children, I use a mixture of songs, videos, and games, along with a lot of communication, to help spur interest in Italian! We play games and do activities focused around a common theme, and each situation has its own song, to help children remember and to make the course more interesting.
