Hello, my name is Jacob, and I am originally from California. My childhood was spent in a Guatemalan community, an experience that shaped my cultural identity and nurtured my passion for language. I am an IB tutor who has completed IB Spanish B coursework and received high marks across the board.

I discovered my passion for teaching Spanish at the age of ten, when I would teach my friends colloquial phrases, and have been pursuing tutoring on different platforms ever since. With family roots in Guatemala, I am fluent in both academic and colloquial Spanish. This dual fluency allows me to help students not only meet their classroom requirements but also gain an authentic understanding of how the language is used in everyday life.

I recently completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which has provided me with a strong foundation in academic Spanish. I am well-prepared to guide students from elementary school through university level, ensuring they meet the expectations of their Spanish instructors. Additionally, I incorporate native expressions and cultural context that are often overlooked in traditional coursework, offering a more well-rounded learning experience.

I have tutored both Spanish and English for four years on various platforms, accrewing 15+ tutoring hours a week. I have vast experience in both IB and AP.
