Hi, my name is İlker.

I was born in Hatay and continue to live in Turkey. Ankara University awarded me a degree in Italian Language and Literature. I completed my pedagogical training and teaching internship at the same university.

I spent fifteen years immersing myself in books. I have nine published novels. For many years, I concentrated on the literary and everyday use of Turkish. Poetry, music, movies, and humor are more than just areas of interest for me; they are means of learning the various tones of language.

For me, Turkish is more than just a method of communication; it is a live and breathing framework. In my classes, I approach the language from a holistic perspective.

In my classes, we learn Turkish not only through its rules but also within its usage context.

A sentence might be grammatically correct but not sound natural. That's where I can help. My goal is for my students to:

Be able to use everyday speech and expressions in the right situation.

They should be able to express their feelings and thoughts with a more varied vocabulary.

We work through poems, everyday conversations and real-life examples. We also talk about slang, idioms and cultural references when they're relevant. This way, you won't just memorise the language, you'll start to understand it.

When you work with a poet, you learn not only what words mean, but also how they sound and what effect they have.

When I'm teaching, I always make sure I'm focusing on my students' goals. Whatever your reasons might be – be it living in Turkey, doing business, communicating more easily with your partner or simply learning the language in depth – we've got you covered. Whatever your goal is, I'll tailor the lessons to suit you.
