Hi everyone!

My name is Erica, I work as a Swedish and English teacher, and I live in Sydney, Australia. In my spare time, I enjoy walking, reading books, and, of course, having fika with my friends.

Languages have always been a big interest of mine. When I was little, I loved reading and writing and dreamed of becoming an author! I haven’t become an author (yet!), but I do work with teaching the Swedish language every day. My interest in teaching Swedish was sparked when I moved to Australia almost 10 years ago, as I gained a new perspective on how important the Swedish language and culture are to me - and how much I enjoy sharing them with others!

I have been teaching Swedish online since 2017. My students have included children, teenagers, and adults. I also run several Swedish language courses here in Sydney for Australians who want to learn Swedish.

I have an educational background in both linguistics (University of Sydney) and Swedish as a Second Language (Linnaeus University), as well as a certificate in English as a Second Language from Australia. My work experience, combined with my university studies, makes me feel confident teaching Swedish at all levels. My previous students have ranged from beginners to advanced levels.

My lessons can look very different depending on who I’m teaching. For beginner students, I usually recommend working with a textbook, while more advanced students can choose to focus on various areas, such as conversation practice or reading and discussing current events. How we structure the lessons depends on you and your goals!
