About me

Hey guys, my name is Laura, I am Swiss from the German part of Switzerland.

I worked 5 years as a licensed primary school teacher, especially with kids who learned German as a second or foreign language.

Now that I moved away from Switzerland and am living in Indonesia, I would love to keep my passion for teaching.

Besides teaching, I love to be in nature, explore new places, surf and cook.

I studied for 3 years in the university FHNW, where I got my teaching degree.

After that I worked 5 years as a primary school, 2 years I worked as specialised teacher for German as a second language.

Since I live in Indonesia, I am volunteering to teach English to the women from my village. For most of them, this is their first contact with the English language that they have to learn from scratch.

I'm very happy with how our lessons work out. Laura creates a very positive and productive environment for me to practice my speaking skills. I can do most of the talking, while still getting the mistakes corrected, just the way I'd like it to be. Laura was also very attentive to my needs and helps me with my goals (speaking Swiss German). I enjoy our lessons and would highly recommend Laura to everyone on their German (or Swiss German) learning journey.

Laura is an excellent teacher for German. My eight year okd daughter is taking classes with her and is very happy and learning well. Laura knows how to teach children as she has the experience. I look forward to continuing lessons for my child with her.

Laura is a good German teacher, very patient, empathetic, and kind. She gives constructive feedback and motivates me. We now only have speaking sessions with her as per my request and it helps me become more fluent. Whenever I need help finding a specific word or phrase, she's there to assist me. I appreciate her professional and friendly approach.

I have been learning with Laura for more than a month. She is very patient and understands what I need and works with me at my pace to improve the language. Whether speaking or grammar, she has helped me prepare for my exam in an interesting and interactive way. I would recommend her anytime.
