My name is Jana. I am from the heart of Europe, Prague in Czech Republic. A few years ago I decided to embark on a new adventure and move to Bulgaria.

I would be very happy to be your guide on the exciting journey of learning the Czech language and culture. I have extensive experience with beginner students of both the Czech and Bulgarian language.

The teaching method I truly enjoy is called the communicative method. This approach will help you handle real-life communication situations. I use a study plan tailored for arriving and thriving in the Czech Republic. Some examples: introducing yourself, ordering in a restaurant, making an appointment, or talking about famous Czechs (which is a great opportunity to practice speaking in past tens). We Czechs enjoy talking about vacations and the weather, so these topics are also included in the plan.

Each communication situation focuses only on the necessary grammar. My lessons combine speaking, reading, listening, and writing in varying proportions. The main goal is to manage the situation, nothing else.

From time to time, and with the student’s agreement, I also include other topics and materials based on the season or Czech culture and habits.

I enjoy nature walks as well as visiting museums, I love stories, swimming and creative arts and crafts.

I have experience as a volunteer teacher for foreigners in individual Czech and Bulgarien language lessons. In 2003, I completed a teaching specialization in optometry at Masaryk University in Brno. I have over twenty years of experience in adult education. I am proud of my certificate for teaching foreign languages on LearnZone.

My students say that my pronunciation is clear and articulation distinct. It is easy to understand me.

Living abroad, I understand the importance of communication and the it’s challenges. In my lessons, I am focusing on all aspects of communication skills - speaking, writing, reading, and listening. I am very patient, I speak slowly and I pronounce clearly. I will encourage you and support you every step of the way. 

Take advantage of my knowledge as a native speaker and book conversation lessons. You will improve your fluency in conversations, build a new vocabulary and express yourself more confidently. I am ready to create a plan according your needs, letting you choose what topics you would like. You are the one who knows your needs the best. We will have a lot of fun.

I am not equipped to teach young students under 12 years old. For anyone above 12 years old, I am more than happy to be their guide in mastering the Czech language and culture.

I find great satisfaction in supporting students in improving new language skills.
