About me
For more than 5 years, I have been teaching Czech to students of all levels and ages in a challenging and enjoyable way. I am also a qualified legal translator and interpreter with a passion for literary translation. Apart from language and literature, I also love music.
I have more than 5 years of language teaching experience. I hold a BA degree in literature and linguistics and a dual Master's degree in literature with a significant element of translation. I have a TEFL certificate and I am also a qualified legal translator and interpreter.
I teach all skill levels and ages.
In my lessons, I focus on developing the necessary grammatical skills in context of various cultural and daily-life topics and situations to enhance understanding, active linguistic ability, vocabulary, and conversation. This contributes to seamless learning experience, which is also challenging, enjoyable and worthwhile.
I always to tailor the lessons to the individual needs of the student and try to work out what is best for him or her.
Czech is not a piece of cake but I can guarantee that after one lesson with me, it will seem conquerable. I have a dual Master's degree in literature including significant element of literary translation. My translation of Erben's poem Věštkyně was published in the Trinity Journal of Literary translation. From the Bible of Kralice, through nationalist romanticism, all the way to the plays of Václav Havel, I can provide informative and enjoyable lessons on Czech literature.
