The content of the textbooks corresponds to the proficiency guidelines - ACTFL and CEFR, which will help you develop your Chinese speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
✅ Authentic materials (YouTube videos, podcasts, current news, etc.) to experience how native speakers use the language in real life.
✅ If you are intermediate to advanced learners (B1-C2), we can discuss topics that interest you during the lessons, such as current world news, investments, cooking recipes, and more.

Kai-Ying is an awesome tutor, and I really like taking lessons with her! She customizes lessons based on my needs and provides a lot of learning resources. With me being a complete beginner, she is very kind and patient and takes extra time to ensure correct pronunciation and tones. She also makes each lesson engaging with stories and customs practiced in Taiwan, which helps a lot in my case, since I interact with Taiwanese colleagues for work. Kaiying has been the most brilliant Chinese teacher. When I started her classes, I had been studying for a while but couldn't string a sentence together and was terrified to even try! Now I'm speaking in full sentences and my grammar and vocabulary have progressed immensely. Kaiying is so friendly and easy to talk to, and she encourages me to speak as much Chinese as possible during the lessons and is patient with my mistakes. For almost 3 years now, I’ve really enjoyed my time learning Chinese with Kai-Ying. She made what seemed like a difficult language feel approachable and even fun. Her one-on-one conversational method where we talk about our day helped me naturally build vocabulary and confidence speaking. The way she teaches pinyin is incredibly effective; it stuck with me so well that typing using a Chinese keyboard now feels second nature. I'm a 9-year-old girl. Teacher Kai-Ying has been teaching me Chinese for several months. The lesson is always fun. She let me choose which subject I want to learn in Chinese. Sometimes, we also play Chinese games, which helps me understand the lesson better.
