Hi! I’m Yumi, a native Japanese tutor with 4 years of experience.　I live in the U.S. and speak English, plus a bit of Mandarin and Indonesian.

TEACHING INFORMATION

I support all age groups and levels, and my teaching materials and lessons are personalized to meet your individual goals. From structured lessons to recreational lessons like Wanna learn anime Japanese or want to learn Japanese through playing video games or wanna learn buzzwords. Just share with me what you want to learn and your ideal learning style is and we’ll figure out our best ways. I’m able to teach both in English and Japanese. Group lessons are also available with your friends or colleagues to double the fun! I will maximize your speaking time so that you can improve your vocabulary and grammar easily and quickly. Also, you will gain more confidence when speaking Japanese.

🚀 For Intermediate Learners (JLPT N3–N2)

If your goal is to pass the JLPT or improve your conversational fluency, I’ll design a customized plan.

We’ll focus on listening and speaking using N3/N2 grammar through interactive practice.

🎓 For Advanced Learners (JLPT N1)

We’ll dive into news articles, novels, or videos and discuss them in depth. This method enhances vocabulary, comprehension, and speaking while deepening your understanding of Japanese culture and society.

Fun and engagement come first!

I use interactive activities such as flashcards, quizzes, and online materials. We also learn phrases from YouTube and Netflix clips to keep lessons lively and relevant.
