I am Munyaradzi Magate (MA; BA Hons.; PGCE), the Head of History here at Maru-a-Pula School, Botswana's biggest independent institution.

I have taught History with distinction at IGCSE, Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Levels for the past 27 years. I have also concurrently offered the EDEXCEL History (International &Home options) as well as IB.

I have also taken my students on overseas tours of Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland to enable them to embrace the geographical settings of some vital parts of History! These approaches engage and wow all learners, juniors and seniors alike! In January 2019, I was invited to New Delhi by a group of parents of students of international schools and I helped them to obtain excellent results in the February/March exams.

I welcome all students of varying academic strengths and work to draw the best results out of them. I expect consistent effort and high commitment from all my learners in order to always guarantee brilliant results. Together we can always do it!

My most recent Cambridge International Examination results speak for themselves:

2018: one of my Advanced Level students attained a Top Mark in the World, whilst another one at Advanced Subsidiary Level got an award for High Achievement;

In 2019: One of my Advanced Level students received a High Achievement Award, whilst two of my Advanced Subsidiary students earned the same award.

2019: One of my IGCSE History students achieved Top in the Country.

I can therefore, with authority, promise all my students sets of excellent results!

I maximize my exam candidates' abilities through focusing on exam techniques in my revision exercises. As a past CIE A-Level examiner, I fully understand that a thorough grasp of question-answering skills is essential in attaining the best grades. I am equally thrilled to help the younger learners develop essay-writing skills as well as note-making through mind maps, power points, quizzes and video clips. Frequent written tests and assignments beautifully consolidate my overall assessment of my students.
